how to downgrade from ios4 to 3.1.3 on my iPhone 3G? I have tried downloading the firmware and holding the options key and loading the firmware on. It gets halfway and then an error message appears and the phone goes into recovery mode. Then I have to restore and update to the latest firmware. I have no other choice but to do this.
I want to downgrade it to jailbreak it and load on the tomtom app and it will be used as a satnav for my motorbike as I have a new one coming.
Help

You will struggle mate, OS4.0 was designed to bulk up the protection i.e. the baseband etc. It was the same with 3.1.3, if you upgraded you were screwed!
