Well guy's n gal's, I really can't believe my luck. I never win anything, but this time....... I have!
Many of you know I have been eagerly waiting to get my car Revo'd Stage1 for quite some time now. Even at Inters I was unable to take advantage of their offer for Revo and SPS, due to money or should I say the lack of it.
So when a few of the lovely ladies from Revo asked me if I wanted to enter their Free Prize draw to win Revo stage1 and SPS, I thought, what the hell.
I honestly thought I didn't have a chance of winning......cos I never do. :sad1:
This morning the phone rang, and it was Carl from Revo. He told me the great news that I had won their prize draw!
Its still hard to believe. Like I said, I am the sort of person that NEVER wins anything for nothing, and for that reason, I am ashamed to say, I was very skeptical as to whether anyone ever wins the free prize draws. :ashamed:
Lesson learned. :notworthy: I will now seek out ALL the free prize draw competitions at the shows because you never know. :happy2:
BIG, BIG, BIG THANKS to Carl, and All at REVO!
....see you on the 25th July!

Thanks guy's  I still can't believe it though.
Can anyone confirm officially what the prize consists of???
R-kid, who was with me at the time says that it was def stage1 software with SPS switch. I can't quite remember.
The only bit of info on the net that I can find is from INTERS2008. Basically the same free prize draw with a prize of up to £1000 on software and accessories (sps).
The link is here, but I can't find anything about the 2010 draw.

....oh yes, Dave (PDT) when I spoke to Carl, he said that I had to go down to them mate :ashamed: Sorry bud. I might have to try those rather nice brakes you have now though, to tame the extra power. :happy2:
-
Couldn't of happened to a nicer chap mate. Especially as you were so keen to get it done, but funds not allowing. Great news bud.. :happy2:

That would have been a great idea mate, but I am not going down to Revo till Monday 26th!
-
Nice one mate :congrats:
-
Can anyone recommend the DSG Revo map??? I am not saying that I will definitely be getting it done, but when I spoke to Carl, he said that if I am really nice, that he might treat me to the DSG map for free :notworthy:
So to all the guys/girls with this map, Is it worth getting done? Bare in mind, I have no other mods like TBE or intake or pump. I am sure it will be good either with or without. I just don't really know much about it :ashamed:
I am going to give Carl a call tomorrow and re-book my car in with them, now I have had it repaired!
Can't wait..........again
-
100% get it done as it makes the box rev like it should
-
DSG map for free :surprised:
You lucky thang!! I am so jealous!
-
go for it carlo!!
-
100% get it Carlo
-
I would realy recommend getting the DSG mapped, it gives you so much more control than standard.
-
Thanks guy's. I am gonna have to be real nice to Carl. The DSG map sounds good.
Tom, that sig is awesome mate. At first I thought it was a real rap vid. Then I saw the rollerboots.
-
Well I am no longer a Revo-virgin :jumpmove:
I went down to Revo today (at last) and saw Carl and Rob. What can I say! Amazing people :notworthy: I hope the director of Revo is proud of his staff because these guy's are two of the nicest people you could meet. They have real passion/devotion for both cars and for their jobs.
I had a great day, well an hour or two, and Carl showed me around their HQ in Daventry. WOW its a great place, and it is going to be a real booming business when they get the ramps in and the RR, and take over the whole Industrial Estate
I was quite surprised to see that they had quite a lot of Motocross Bikes in there too, all Revo tuned....I think.
Then Carl showed me what my next mod will be. A rather tasty Blueflame TBE rebranded with Revo etched in the tails. mmmm very nice. They had lots and lots and lots of Blueflames all over the warehouse. I am sure they wouldn't have missed one. I just didn't have the bottle to ask :ashamed:
Anyway, Carl took my key and set about flashing my car. He told me that they were going install the Stage1 DSG software as well. So as you can imagine, I was buzzing
He put me 2 performance maps on the switch, leaving the third performance map free for me to put my own settings on.
The settings are as follows, and if anyone can recommend some settings for me then please let me know. Also can I install the settings onto my SPS myself or do I need vagcom??? :happy2:
0-Communications
1-Stock Map
2-Performance Map A, B6,T5,A9
3-Performance Map B, B8,T4,A9
4-Performance Map C, (not set up yet)
5-Anti theft ON
6-Anti theft OFF
9-Firmware update
Carl did however mention that something was a bit worn in the HPFP causing it to use alot of fuel. I think he said a cam??? or something like that. He said they are about £20 ish and that they are easy enough to fit. So if anyone knows what he means, and has a part number and fitting instructions, that would be great!
Well as you can imagine, I really enjoyed the drive home from Revo :driver: and the best thing is......it wont switch off in 5hrs
Thank you Carl. Rob and everyone at Revo. I now have a different car!
-
Glad you like the map Carlo :happy2:
The part your wanting is the cam follower, second item down http://www.jkmperformance.co.uk/performance/tfsimisc.htm

You can do it yourself but i think you have to take the fuel pump off, you can get an indie to do it like Stattlers for about an hours labour max i think.
Personaly not one to tackle something like that :scared:
-
Nice one Monte :happy2: glad your pleased with it.
The follower change is pretty straight forward, if you were a bit closer I'd sort it for you, unless your kid still wants this tent
-
sound goot Carlo!! :happy2:
you just need to take the pump off and the follower will pull out.
-
Well I have just ordered the follower from JKM :happy2: and searching the internet I have found a great How-to on changing the follower. It says it is done on a MK2 Skoda Octavia vRS but i would imagine the process is the same or pretty similar for all 2.0 TFSi Engines

Original brakes were terrible mate before I had my car Revo'd, so I changed to R32/S3 brakes Front/Rear. :happy2: A LOT Better brakes now.

NIce one Carlo, glad the Revo boys sorted you out at last (especially after the first attempt at heading down there went so badly ). Was you not tempted to chuck one of those many BF exhausts that are on the floor in your boot when Carl wasn't looking? :signLOL:
You may as well chuck the Autotech internals in the pump whilst you're taking it off the car to change the cam follower, makes sense..
-
Good news Carlo! So whats the initial feel of the car? Impressed? Whats the fuel consumption like?
