Title: engine/exhaust light
Post by: chopper on July 07, 2010, 08:15:45 pm
driving home today engine / exhaust light came on. i have edition 30 and had stage 2 bluefin installed 2 weeks ago along with turboback APR RSC , and also have carbonio CAI. car seems to be running fine since all was installed. still seems ok with light on. Any ideas why it might be on? im going to try the bluefin diagnostics on the handset

Do you lots of short journeys??

Has the light stayed on since, or went off after shuting down?

Could be an exhaust leak, faulty o2 sensor or lambda sensor on the downpipe. Are you running 99 octane fuel?

Has the light remained on??

Apparenty if you do lots of short journeys , this car occasionally happen as mine has recently done this, but only did it once, and after shutting down, and restarting  ,hasnt come back on in the last fortnight.
Either take the car back where you had the exhaust fitted to get it checked, or get some data logs done from someone with VCDS to assist further.

im running bp super unleaded 97 octane. ive tried restarting , but no good. il have to try checking the exhaust for a leak, and then find someone to run diagnostics

The light can come on for a multitude of reasons.

Best to get the car scanned or diy with the Bluefin handset.

if your running a remapped car, then id put in 99 octane and not 97,

agree with hedge, spek to superchips to enable diagnosis mode on Bluefin handset.

Chopper have you checked the VCDS owners list to see if there is anyone local you could tap up.
