Title: Water/leak in front of rear wheel?
Post by: Lyons on July 13, 2010, 09:55:34 pm
Basically a puddle has formed in front of the passenger side rear wheel, with a drip coming from the edge of the underside before the wheel arch starts.

Has anyone heard of this before? Or is there even any water filled things in that area?! My only thought is rear washer jet, but I have no idea what route it takes to the back.

It hasn't been raining here so it's not from a puddle!

I did, I'm 99% sure it's water.

i've had it after putting the carbon a stand where it wasn't reinforced. It's from the inside of the panel  :sad1: and VW's respond was to seal it, that's it  :fighting:
aparently it's normal with condensation in this area

So, this morning I decided to try the rear washer jet and the water ran for 30s or so them emptied, as did the front.

I'm not sure if this was just coincidence, or if it had been dripping all night and the washer reservoir emptied.

Does anyone know how the pipe gets to the rear window from the front?

Ive attached a photo of the location too.

Any ideas?

I don't know where the water would come from though. It had been dry all day, no rain since the previous day.
