Title: Dear admin and users re; iPhone app
Post by: cuprak1 on July 16, 2010, 02:08:49 pm
Ok, I don't like to waffle as I'm a very busy guy.

I am a web developer/designer etc and own my own agency doing this stuff day in day out, we are also looking to make iPhone apps...

So, being an entrepreneur and wanting to break into the market i am going to make an iPhone app.

It will be car related and i cant go into too much details publicly (unless you want to sign an NDA lol) and it will not be a game or some pointless app it will server a purpose.

My question to you guys is what would you want to see on / in and iPhone app related to cars

and...

My question to the admins here is would you be willing to help promote the app (and/or sponsor it :P) in return for a link / banner inside the app itself.

Many thanks

A list of the cars made along with their power outputs, performance, prices, CO2 outputs etc. Alongside this the ability to choose 3 or 4 cars and compare them for the above stats.Photo's of each car and links to each manufacturer's own website.

The above should be as a bare minimum :happy2:

Nail on head lol that's what the app already is in a nutshell

I'm also thinking of incorporating some sort of BHP calculator based on weight of the car and it will provide a rough 1/4 mile time etc

Next thing is name, we are still undecided on the apps name :(

Adaptation of VCDS to run on the iphone. Probably majorly complicated and you would run in to hardware issues developing a lead to connect to the obd port - but would be good.

Another idea would be some sort of VBOX style app that measured accurate speed utilising the GPS facility and allowed you to do power runs without having to inteface with the fone.

Remote control similar to what james bond had on his 7 series linked to his fone........

no to mention the price  lol

would be easier if the admins made a mobile version of the stylesheets etc so its easier to view the site on a mobile device, no app needed for that :) apart from safari of course.
