Title: VW EVC, what gets checked??
Post by: Mandy on July 18, 2010, 09:56:11 am
I'm thinking I might book in for a Express Visual Check at vw, I believe its a 34 point check.

Does anybody know what they check besides the obvious ones- brakes, tyres etc.

I've noticed my steering makes a funny creaking noise every now and again when I turn to the left or right so thought it might be worth booking in for an EVC.

Thanks.

If they check things properly, i've had my car go in before and had stuff put down on the report that was entirely inaccurate!
In all fairness you can just as easily check most of them if not all of them yourself without being any kind of mechanic

....You'd need either a high-lift or an inspection pit for some of the checks. I trust the mechanics I know, so I'd much rather leave it to them.

Thanks Golfgirl.  :happy2:

I am certainly no mechanic myself so I think I will book in for an evc soon whilst it's still under warranty.

Like Robin said, I trust them to know what they're doing.
