Title: Auto-locking unlocked
Post by: stealthwolf on July 19, 2010, 12:05:09 am: A few weeks back, I enabled the auto-lock feature so as you drive off, the doors automatically lock themselves. Which is all well and good except that sometimes I like to lock the doors anyway.

This has caused a problem - if I lock the doors first, then when I put the keys into the ignition, the doors unlock (leaving me vulnerable) and then auto-lock when I drive off.

What gives?

Post by: Poppa Dom on July 23, 2010, 05:05:23 pm: Tara, anyone with VCDS locally to you will be able to do this, it's a 20 second job - dealers have been known to charge £30 for this! A shame you are not going to Castle Coombe tomorrow as someone will have been able to do this for you.

Post by: Nasir on July 23, 2010, 05:30:15 pm: Bit odd that one, mine never does that. If I lock the doors myself before I put the key in the doors won't unlock when I put the key in. But when I take the key out they won't unlock either as it probably thinks that I don't want them to unlock. Normally they lock at 5 mph (all doors) and unlock when I take the key out (only the doors unlocked initially).

Tara if your VW dealer is friendly they'll do it for free :happy2:

No, I have VCDS. As above, can also be done with highline.
