Post by: keith on July 20, 2010, 06:14:23 pm
I have seen anything for E38 wondered if this forum is attending as I haven't been before and folks say its a good one, missed Inters so wanted to get another big show in this year.

Don't think I'll be doing this show again as it's far too clicky and full of chavs!

Thought this the year before last but thought I'd give it another go but it had got worse!  :surprised:

I may be tempted if there is a MK5 gti stand as missed Inters due to work, and would like to get to at least one more VW show this year,
Have spoken to Revo and htey say they will be there, but thatt hey cannot guarantee a discount as good as the one they did at GTI International (
How much was the discount btw!?)

Im feeling you on that mate. I was pissed i missed it last year, i was in tenerife. But from what i heard, im glad i didnt go.

Not my scene really, plus a load of cars got keyed too! I think Inters is my highlight show these days!

Revo offer was essentially 20% off plus free sps switch. If you had remap from another company, they offered a 50% discount.

Sounds like the water cooled dub shows are going the way of the Ford shows which is a shame as ive always really enjoyed the dub scene as its always been that much better than other marques.

The aircooled scene tho seems to still be all good!

Edition 38 is a good show if you ignore the chavs that seem to have invaded it of late. Sunday is traditionally the better day as you get all of the show cars turning up but Saturday still has plenty to offer.
There will no doubt be a good turnout by the European faithfuls that make the long drive over. If you have never been before make the time to go I dont think you will be disappointed.

If its the same VW Action I went too with my Split Bus a couple of years ago I won't be going again.

Hi guys anyone can have a club stand, there is no need to pre book just turn up and well give you a space!

I don't know how these rumors start but they're not true along with the cars being keyed aswell! Were going to have an incredible turn out of European metal aswell so if your up for something different to Gti international than please come and check us out.

Any further help/info you need feel free to drop me an email simon.sweetland@edition38.com.

Cheers

Simon.

I don't remember a car being keyed.

Now the car being turned onto its roof, the thefts, the assaults, the threats, the chavs, the coked & roided up hired goons.....

People's memories aren't that short and I think a lot will be staying away from what has in the past been the best show of the year. It remains to be seen if the trouble from last year comes back? I know there's no way of controlling who comes through the gates, sadly and you were kind of caught out by a load of scumbags you weren't expecting, it's always been so chilled in the past.

I hope it goes well.

Yep that was hilarious!

You could tell they were all smashed from the night before!! If you want to see that just go down any high street on a Friday/Saturday night! Not what you expect at a VW show......

Hi guys , first year I have not managed this show and feeling pretty gutted as I have always enjoyed the standard of car found here. As for the trouble spoken about from last year I for one didn't see all that has been posted about it but what I did see could be found at any VW show. Lads will be lads good or bad.
Hope everyone has a good time and let's get plenty of pics up.

Lot of people over the Ed38 forum slating it, mostly the people who are camping, getting their tents robbed, and one guy who's girlfriend had a bottle thrown in her face at the rave tent. Not a good atmosphere by the sounds of some of them.
Though sure there will be some nice motors there.

Managed to pick up 2 trophys on the sunday best mk 5 and best interior which helped top it all off. All in all though was a good laugh and great to meet new people and catch up with old freinds again. :happy2:

IIRC the grill is a hybrid from the S3 and an RS6 one with the centre number plate bar thingy removed

Hi all

im the owner of the S3, as gaz as already said the grill is is from an RS6, well a mix of the original S3 grill and an RS6 gril. Not a mod for the faint hearted, a lot of cutting involved.

The whole edition weekend was awesome, cant really remember the latter end of saturday night

Thats a brave mod to do, often when you see these type of things, they can make you laugh, but that works, well done.  :notworthy:

Hey Matt, I think I've seen you over on audi-sport.net in the past?

As TC says, the grill really works. Makes it look similar to how I expect the front end of the RS3 to look  :happy2:
Love the car in general. I caught up with your thread about the Rotiforms the other day. Ben from this forum had recently put some on his Ed30 and they look equally stunning
