Title: Video Footage: VW Driver Trackday @ Castle Combe July 2010
Post by: Poppa Dom on July 25, 2010, 06:22:57 pm
Had a great day at Castle Coombe yesterday with Wigit, Hedge and Greeners - also had a long chat with Jim and Keith form JKM who were down in Jim's Octavia vRS. Managed to shoot a few video's whilst I was there, so enjoy:

Video Medley from the day

Jim from JKM in his Octavia vRS, owning that RS4  :happy2:

Thanks for the Videos Dom :) they are great.
The Skoda was and still is on the exact same road tyres  it was delivered from the factory on - unlike the toyo 888's that were on that stripped out RS4 :-)

One of the reasons the JKM skoda was all over the RS4 was that although he won't  say it himself (so I will say it for him) Jim at JKM is actually a very very good driver and knows how to drive circuits propperly... Equally  important the set up on the adjustable KW3 suspension was superb and the car felt fantastic on the track!

I think these are facts well proven to everyone watching on the day.
With better tyres and brakes ( as these needed good managment to avoid issues ) the car would have been even quicker - easily so infact.
Jim actually managed to lap a few cars on one session and a few drivers pushed their tallents a bit far :-)

The Skoda is on KW variant 3 suspension, Standard roll bars, Standard brakes ( racing blue fluid though), Revo stage 1 software, S3 intercooler, Evoms intake and Milltek cat back.

We basically turned up, adjusted nothing, visually checked the car over between each track session and then drove home again!
I love the fact that the car in the exact same spec as seen on the track day took the family out for a picnic today!! Superb !!

Nice to see you and Jim yesterday, Keith.

Please get some brakes on the Octy so the TRD car doesn't stand a chance next time.
