Picked up my black gti on Friday night....2006 Manual with 65,000 on the clock

It's my first VeeDub, I'm chuffed to bits and can't leave it alone....gave it a good wash and a wax this aft!

Car looks lovely and very shiney, the tailpipes are a bit on the dirty side though.  :laugh:

Mine were like that when I first brought it, just need a lot of elbow grease...  :happy2:

Thanks for the comments, used auto glym body shampoo conditioner x 2 washes and then aqua wax.....just ordered a foam lance, snow foam and some clay though so will see how that goes when I have some time

mandy71185  - what's the best stuff for restoring tailpipes, they are letting her down at the moment

I used Cillit Bang degreaser to get rid of the black stuff, just spray on (try not to spray too much inside the pipes), leave for about 30 secs, rub off with a cloth.

Noticed at this stage that my tips were a bit discoloured and looked a little corroded, I used some fine wet n dry to try and bring it back to a smooth finish, followed by fine grade wire wool and Autoglym metal polish.

Still not perfect but hugely improved.  :happy2:
