Title: Hi !
Post by: Dav on July 26, 2010, 09:38:55 pm

Hi all, just joined the forum to have a look around and swatch the for sale section, I've decided I want a Candy white 3dr Edition 30! (yes I know it's going to be tough finding the right car!) I've also got to sell my 200sx, daily runabout Corsa and possibly (hopefully not) Series1 RS turbo.

Once I get one I'd like to fit the Recaro seats with matching rears, a good sound system, privacy glass and possibly lower it slightly then just enjoy!  :happy2:

Welcome, join the waiting line for a CW Ed30  :signLOL:

Obviously you'll remap it (300 bhp).....then bigger brakes.....better tyres and why not throw in a militek exhaust...........and stage 2 haha

Yea, I probably will remap it

I'm trying to steer clear of modifying (too much) as all I have done is modify cars and i'm kinda sick of it !!

My 200sx is pretty heavily modified, 435bhp, getrag gearbox conversion, brakes, suspension etc etc...and not to forget the rs turbo, restored from a bare shell, and slightly modified... :stupid:

I'll hang off for the right Ed30 though, I know what I want and it's got to be CW/3dr/Manual :D

Ahh right, don't dismiss the DSG box. I don't know if you know what it is but to sum it up, a manual and then some. Truly amazing gearbox, you have to try both before you buy.

I've never driven a DSG, but I like having a clutch...

Is the VW DSG like the Nissan GTR's Gearbox? works like an auto but has paddle shift, and doesnt roll when you lift your foot off the brake pedal like a normal auto?

Don't think of it as an auto but a manual without a clutch. It's a similar system to the Nissans but it pops on every gear change and it becomes very addictive. It does creep a little yes.

Cheers guys  :happy2:

It's pretty clean, painted in Audi Ibis white and converted to EFI so not 100% original but its been put together very well as I wanted it mint!

all it needs to make it PERFECT is 4 new shocks and springs and an engine rebuild which I had planned to do, and may still do.

Thanks for the welcome

Going sideways on trips to the supermarket i bet  lol

"Hmmm, Maybe I need to try it but im still not convinced i'd like it!"
I got a GTI with DSG a few month's ago and sometimes wish i had got the manual,
If you can drive a DSG before you buy, i wish i had, It's ok but not everyone's cuppa.

Oh and Hi by the way

Welcome chap!  :drinking:

Good luck with the search, and as the good Capatain says try the DSG first as out of the two (having had both) I do prefer getting back into the manual!  :happy2:

Lovely RS by the way!  :notworthy:
