Title: GTI MK5 MFSW easy to replace with a Mk6 MFSW?
Post by: oldskoolflash on July 27, 2010, 07:31:03 am
Hi guys,

I had a quick search on this topic but got a bit confused with tech speak. I have a worn MFSW that I would like to replace with a MK6. Does anyone know if this is an easy job or am I likely to reek havok by setting the airbag off etc.

Also is it easy to convert a standard MK5 GTI steering wheel to MFSW? Is it just a matter of buying the buttons and fitting them?

Many thanks,

Ben.

PS the car has DSG with padal shift.

Top Cat is the man you want to speak to as he's done that conversion.

yeh its do-able. Lots of people on sciroccocentral and scirocconet have done this.
it requires a new controller as you have extra buttons on the mk6 wheel than on the mk5.
good luck!
