Hi Guys
Ive got a version C RNS510 on its way to me can anyone tell me which version Can Bus I need, Ive seen this one on eBay
[ebay]http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK5-CAN-BUS-GATEWAY-1K0907530F-/200500294108?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eaebfb1dc#ht_500wt_1154[/ebay]
Not sure if its the correct one and cant seem to find one anywhere else?
Also how can I tell if my can bus even needs upgrading? I'm just assuming it does as I have a June07 GTi?
Cheers

This is the one you want
Can Gateway Clicky (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAN-GATEWAY-1K0907530AD-AUDI-VW-SKODA-MFD-RNS-UPDATE-/170479880670?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_GPSSystems_GPSSystems&hash=item27b16489de#ht_2862wt_1139)
If you have a K Revison gateway or above then no.
Some people say L revision but i have a K Revision and have no Battery Drain problems. My Car is a Mar 2007 car so yours should be the same or higher BUT you need to check with VCDS as the Car may be a late 06 model that was only registered on June 07

Thanks Carl
I followed your advice and checked which version I have, Ive got the 1K0907530 k do you think this will be ok with my RNS 510 Version C?
Cheers

It should be. But I cant say 100% yes.
Only one way to find out :signLOL:
If it does drain at least you know it's only £85 to fix

Cheers, After doing a bit more research I think it should be Ok. If i do have the drain issue how can I tell before I get a flat battery, is it just a case of the stereo dosent turn off when I turn the car off.

No if your lucky you may find the car struggles to start but does.
If your battery is in good condition it will take 2 - 3 days.
The reason i know a K is ok is i have an A revision that is on 2724 firmware (i have an Octavia vRS) and when i went away on honeymoon it was left for nearly 4 weeks and it started first time.
BUT i can't say if for some reason the LED version drains the battery as i haven't tried one.
If it does i'll swap you My A version for your C version free of charge
