left my car on the drive for the last 2 weeks as ive been away. Came home, got in the car and it stank of damp! looked in the back and there was droplets of water where my seats should be (have no rear seats) so i lifted the carpet in the boot and theres a small puddle???
anybody know of any reason?

Is the hatch weather seal intact?
-
i get damp in my boot also
mines to the left corner nearest to you as you look in the boot
checked washer fluid and it doesnt seem to be leaking from that
-
all seals seem to be correct!
I removed my rear wiper about 1 1/2 years ago but only just started to get water in the boot, maybe something is leaking from that since resetting the ecu?
-
did you knock the rear washer off with vag com ?
-
did you know the rear washer off with vag com ?
i did but have since had a new engine and ecu so that may be the problem as i havnt re-done it since then.
-
water in your boot you say? have you been stepping in large puddles?

I had a similar problem with my mk5 gt tdi which was driving me crazy. After much searching on the net i found the water was getting in through the boot flap... There is a small flap on the right side behind the bumper that allows the air to flow out of the boot when you shut it. You will need to take the rear bumper off but its really easy. I just took it out and resealed it with silicon and have had no water in the boot since.
Heres a pic of a mk4 its in the same place

There is one of those vents/flaps on each side of the boot as I had the one on the other side replaced/resealed under warranty. It didn't stop the water collecting in the boot though. VW offered to carry out a water test for £150 to find out where the leak was coming from but I politly declined their offer!
I managed to stop the leak myself by reseating the rubber thing that goes from the roof to the boot hatch that carries the wires. Hasn't leaked since I done that!
