I have bought one of these to take on holiday: http://www.which.co.uk/news/2010/05/toshiba-camileo-bw10---a-rugged-hd-camcorder-215267
The camera works perfectly and I can save the files on my laptop as MP4 files but they wont play properly, they are extremely jerky and video playback pauses and resumes constantly. I tried viweing the videos in quicktime, realplayer, WMP, i-tunes but its all the same. The playback on the camera is perfect.
I did a bit of searching and I found similar issues with people attempting to view MP4 HD material on older laptops, is this likley to be the case? will an Ipad play HD MP4 content?
Thanks,
Dave.

Have you installed the Toshiba software CD to ensure that the correct codecs are installed - jerky playback is often associated with poor in built graphics capabilities of the laptop too.

The supplied CD only has a user manual and a rubbish uploader tool on it. Have tried installing it anyway but its no different.

What is the spec of the laptop you are running on? Have you got Apple quicktime installed? Other codecs such as xvid etc...?

I uploaded a video to youtube and it plays fine. Laptop spec I am not sure but its nott new, it was high spec in 2002 :signLOL:
needed an excuse for an i-pad anyway

Sounds like your graphics processor on the laptop is getting bogged down with trying to decode HD content :sad1:

+1. You need new hardware to keep up with demands. Laptops tend to be less-capable than their desktop counterparts.
