Question 1 :happy2:
-
Or you could go for DENSO IK24s
-
Personally i'd run a copper plug going from my experience of Iridium/platinum plugs (expensive, can be the cause of most miss-fire cases on turbocharged cars)
I dont know what the Golf copper plug code is though...
-
OEM spark plugs are platinum ones by default...had no problems.
-
No you probably wont on a standard car...when you start to tune/run more boost you probably will.

Hi Dav - what kind of problems could I expect? I'm running Stage 2 and haven't experienced any issue, but that may be down to me not knowing what to look out for.
Cheers.
-
Usually the cause of high rev/boost miss-fire's, not every car has a problem but it CAN develop over time or if you fit new plugs.
I only ever use copper plugs in cars.
-
The higher the tune the smaller the gap to prevent pre ignition.
Pre gapped at just over 0.8mm you can reduce to 0.7mm for a stage 2
Hope this helps.
-
Pre igniton is caused by the wrong grade, if you have this you need a colder plug i.e. an 8, if the gap is too big the boost just blows it out also causing a missfire. ime.
