Title: can someone tell me what the dark silver colour is called?
Post by: wingnutLP on July 31, 2010, 01:35:38 pm
I have bought some touch up paint from hellfrauds and I would like to check it is the right colour before I splodge it on.

I checked under the bonnet but couldn't find a plaque with the vin number etc...

Do you mean the Steel Grey colour?

If you're looking for the paint code, it will also be on the first page of your log book.

EDIT: If you mean the Steel Grey then I think the paint code is LA7T. Confirm it first though.

It will be steel grey as his is an Ed

When I checked before halfords didn't do steel grey off the shelf.

It says steel grey in the original receipt but there is no paint code.

The first page of the log book that ought to have that info in is blank for some reason.

I picked up a storm grey as it looked pretty close, I guess I will have to go back and get it ordered in...

If anyone can confirm the code that would be great.

I am 99% sure it is LA7T.

They can mix it in store if you ask at the parts desk.

Thanks for the link to e bay, I have bought the paint from there as it is probably cheaper than the dealer.

So far:
Thursday
car £14,500
fuel £70
Saturday:
Paint £6
Bluefin £450
Bluetooth phone prep £330

This car is already turning into an expensive habbit!

My phone camera will not do it justice and my SLR is at work so it will have to wait till after the weekend. They are very stealthy considering the punch which I really like. A focus RS went by me today and it looked a bit ridiculously OTT even as standard!

What is a plaque number?

I can see this coming... it is a plaque with a number on it I assume! Where would it be if it had one?

All edition 30's where issues a 'special' edition number between 1-2300 ish.

If its on the car it should be on the drivers door near the front otherwise give VW UK HQ a call and request yours.

The dealer is cheaper to get it from, cost £5 last time I went.
