Title: Sachs clutch fitted
Post by: gazbutS3 on July 31, 2010, 07:03:55 pm
Knowing the clutch was on borrowed time after going stg2+, then finishing the std one off at inters :driver:  had the Sachs uprated plate and cover fitted this week along with a new DMF by PSI Tuning. The std one had done very well considering the car has been mapped since 800miles old and 10K of the 25K mileage have been stg2+.

First impressions are very good, pedal feel is not much different than std but its definately biting better as the car feels really crisp on the power.

The old one did look very sorry for itself

Having run 2+ with the standard clutch is it something you would recommend doing?  I am considering uprating my clutch before upgrading to 2+ now but I am not sure if I should just upgrade to 2+ and wait for it to start slipping before upgrading...

I went stg2+ and the std clutch lasted 10k, but I do a lot of motorway driving and don't really do the traffic light grand prix so I think that helped it last, But some peoples have slipped straight away its a bit of a lottery really
I put a new DMF in for piece of mind really and you can get them fairly cheap now, think it was 250quid delivered :happy2:
