Well got tired of the rear brakes squealing so I thought I would give these a go and they seem to have worked.
1/2 a days work. I found out my 15mm spanner would not fit so machined that down and then the caliper came off. Brake pads out and then cleaned up shim stuck on and all back together. The first side took me two hours but the second side once I knew the process took only 30 mins.
Mine were about £8 from Ebay so not bad quick fix really.

So 3M shims get the thumbs up! :happy2:

I've heard good things about them too. Unfortunately I still had terrible squeel after using them on DaveB's Porsche 986 caliper setup described in another current thread - the pistons / heat seemed to have eaten through the pads when I took them off. I am suspicious that I did not have the genuine 3M pads given that I paid a bit less...could be a lesson there!

I use these all the time on all sorts of pads, no issues. I suspect there's some fake s*** floating around by the sounds of it?
Sure it's pad squeal and no heat expansion metal on metal??
