IMO if you main desire is for loud induction noise then go with the evoms.

ITG FTW, as good as the twin take and Evoms IMHO  :happy2:

Twintake,ITG & EVOMS (i run EVOMS) are all pretty equal really with very little seperating them in terms of gains from what i have seen :happy2:

after having evoms on mine and then having the vwr car with the itg on i can honestly say i think the itg sounds better and looks better for an open filter kit

So people are now saying itg?! And as to the sound i thought the twin take was louder?

ITG is quieter I believe wrt Twintake
The ITG seems to have some slight low down lag by some reports (e.g. ZBOYD on seatcupra.net) when directly compared to the Twintake.
But the outright top end gains are prob slightly higher for the ITG

Both are great intakes, wouldnt look any further than those 2 in the current intake market imho  :happy2:

right well picked up a ITG intake today and fitted it! im pretty happy with the results! it defo sounds better and picks up abit quicker now the only thing i have noticed is i think i need to up-rate my DV to a stronger one (forge?) as when at full post it sounds like it keeps doing little dumps? like it not holding its full boost? anyone had this problem before?

yeah like you get hte start of thw whistle then it sounds like its doing mini dumps? like a choppy noise?

if its like a fluttering noise its perfectly normal, mine does it, its the ECU and its various valves(N75 IIRC) modulating the boost to keep it at requested levels

what DV are you running?

ah right ok, its still runing the standard dv at the mo, i was just out driving with a good friend of mine whos a mechanic and hes the one that sugested it could be the dv not holding up to the boost?

I'd try an updated piston type DV just to be on the safe side if you still have the diaphram type for the sake of 40odd quid. What year is your car?

Just a shame a foam filter doesn't filter air as well as a cotton filter.

its not just the foam though, its also the viscosity and spec of the oil that is used on it that helps in filtration

....My ITG flat panel foam filter got very sticky over time :sad1:. I hope this ITG doesn't or it'll be a royal PITA to restore.

they require a service every 320k i believe which involves cleaning it and re-oiling.  dead simple to do

....Andy at ITG he told me 60,000 miles for their flat panel. Might be simple for you to do but I don't do tedious and messy.

not entirely sure why it says 320k there, it was meant to say 20k, but that would be a personal preference.

Love the sound from my itg I was under the impression that the itg improved filtration over standard, that's what I was told from itg themselfs !

The lift off back fed air woosh is too addictive though, not good at all for mpgs !
