Just wondered what peoples opinions were on this? I have a year left of my warranty but very tempted by a map.

-
we all played with our from new  :innocent: so get modding

-
So if I were to get a revo map, is there anything else I'd realistically need to upgrade immediately or can it be done to a stock gti without doing anything? I'm new to the modding game!

-
just map it and have fun nice and easy

-
I'm in the same boat as you Iain, wanting a remap but I think I'm gonna wait for the warranty to run out first.  :happy2:

You just going stage 1 with Revo?
-
Yes I think so. I've heard that revo is marginally the best so will go with that. Just gonna go with stage one for now then in the future when I want more power I'll move to stage 2! How much longer does your warranty last?

-
Runs out somewhen in January so still a good 5-6 months! Not as much as your one year though I suppose!  :P

I think I'll go for stage 1 Revo for starters too.  :happy2:

Do it now as you may not have the car for what ever reason  in a year's time.
-
make sure your car is tip top , tyres/oil/serviced etc
then just go for it  :happy2:
be prepared for possible tething troubles (PCV/DV etc) and maybe stick a bit more aside just in case (clutch if you are manual etc)
If you have a really early GTI be worth checking your cam version/follower is OK too

But most cars just remap without any issues  :happy2: and are all the better for it

(dont forget to consider insurance costs too!)

-
My car is an 06 gti with dsg? Same potential problems?

-
aside from a clutch yep, but dont worry.
worth a DSG oil change if you havent done so already as good practice  :happy2:
