-
Bloody hell Becca thats good..... although when i reset mine tonight as i was driving reallly easily i was getting 39....but it was boring so put me foot down... we had ours tanking it up the motor way @70mph :signLOL:  and it dropped to 23!.....which was miles more fun :happy2:
-
Had 34.2 on my way home from Manchester, that's the best I've done on my new engine. Had 37 on my ko3,
-
I have had high 39's on my Stage 2 Ed30 on a 90 mile round trip.
Probably more to do with the miles and miles of specs cameras than anything else. :ashamed:
-
I do 36 miles per day , in and out from work , all of it is good A / B roads through the country side , > speed about 50 - 60 MPH . I get 37 MPG at its best . but if I am a bit heavy footed in certain places 32MPG . 40 is really good.

Christ on a bike Becca how the hell did you manage that????
Where you actually driving it or being towed
-
I got 40.1mpg on the way home a couple of weeks ago, constant speed of 70mpg for about 25 minutes!
Generally though between 27-32mpg!
-
I managed 41.1mpg on my 10.5 mile drive to work this week. Bout 4 miles of A roads 6 miles of M'way and the remainder town. I kept to 60-70 on m'way but it was boring! Made up for it on way home!!
-
Okay I'll go the other way. 8.7mpg average over 350 miles..............at the Nurburgring - wasn't cheap. :sad1:
Also seen 6.5mpg when at full throttle with nitrous on.
Can still manage 35mpg on a steady run though :happy2:
-
i've managed 40+mpg if I keep at a constant 60mph.
-
Completely standard GTI
Best - 41.7 :: steady speeds through average speed cameras
Worst - 18.9 :: A821, 'The Duke's pass' :evilgrin:
-

Yup, I've managed the same. The readout is a bit optimistic though: I use an iphone app called Roadtrip. This averages fuel consumption as well as logging expenses & such. Great app. Anyway, my average is 30.1 since March, but yes I have had 40mpg on a 30 mile trip
-
Seen 41.something once - keeping it nice and steady seems to be the key for good mpg ...

:signLOL: we all know, very few VW's are in need of towing! I was driving it, very steady and as GAZMACUK said, it was very boring! Couldnt believe i had so much, didnt think i would see that on my ED30, rarely seen it on my A3 Diesel! :surprised:

Managed 39.7 on a approximately a 160 mile trip, which was mostly motorway and a couple of average speed cameras thrown in. The actual trip computer went up to 503 miles for the tank range :surprised: Although I did manage about 450 from a tank coming back from the other side of glasgow last year. But I suppose thats down hill

40.5mpg is my highest...

Hello,
Just got my ED30 less than a week ago, my MPG is shocking, doing 70-80mph all the way home the best i got was 29.9. around the doors at normal driving (slow) best im getting it 22mpg. The first £20 i put in the car got me just 80miles. Sold my 06 GT TDI 2weeks ago, missing the mpg i used to get. Was no where near as much fun as the ed30 though.
My car has no mods (yet) any ideas why it is so bad anyone? It has a service booked in for Wednesday this week, hoping this might help.
Thanks for any help.
Andy

Wow, that aint good, i get 22 sometimes more when im heavy footed with it

Hi Andy,
Like you, I have recently come from a GT TDI and still coming to terms with the mpg, lol! I can assure you it gets easier though...
My mpg in the ed is usually in the low 20's, I don't do a lot of motorway driving, I find it actually goes down on the motorway if you're doing 80mph or so, only goes up if you're doing 60 ish.
What fuel are you using?
-
Thanks,
I'm using V-power, it has been a little bit better today, 27mpg. Though when took off from a scooby went down again, but that's worth it.
Its getting the 30,000 mile service tomorrow (the bigger one) so might pick up a little from there. Would a stage 1 REVO help?
Cheers andy

Wifey has managed 40+ on occasions with hers.
I can usually manage upper teens when I can prise the keys off her.
Pitch
-
turn the air con off .... :happy2: i can do 37mpg to work and 20 mpg on the way home :driver:
-
I'm also getting poor mpg on my standard dsg Gti. I do alot of town driving which I can understand getting 24-27 but even on a 230 mile journey back from Newcastle I only managed 29.6! For £60 worth of 95ron I'm getting around 315 miles out of it. Is this about average from anyone else who does city milage?
-
Don't put 95 Ron in a Gti it's not good for the fsi engine and I got 44.5 mpg on my way through France :surprised:
