what and how exactly does it work?? you select anti theft on the SPS and then do you have to change it to a non anti theft map when ever you want to drive it??
-
yes just turn it on then when you want to drive the car turn it off its not hard to do :rolleye:
-
so you need to plug the SPS switch in every time? itd be easier if you could do it so its always on but can still be used with the key.
-
Yes you have to plug it in every time but only takes a couple of seconds to turn on and off.
The point of it is so that even with the keys your car cant be stolen ;)
-
What is REVO anti theft exactly? :signIWS:
-
The switch they sell has an anti theft mode, takes a couple of seconds to apply and once applied it disables The throttle pedal and car idles at about 500 rpm
-
As Ant says
So even if someone nicked your keys they couldn't drive off as although the car will start it will not move and will just cut out. :happy2:
I don't leave my vRS anywhere without it on. I even have a Disclock which goes over the steering wheel and it's parked in the Garage with the Slingshot blocking the door. So it will take a determined thief to get it :signLOL:
-
Ah, cool....Sounds good especially with all the key theft crime.
hopefully that would be enough to scare them off rather than come in and kick your head in til you fix it for them to drive off!

By the time they came back in you have rung the police and also found the kids Baseball bat

and got some boxers on :booty:

Nah giving someone a hiding whilst your naked is more embarrassing for them :signLOL:

I think you might require a more 'specialist' website....

Cant help wondering what if the SPS stops working? And how big exactly the unit is? Is it easy to carry with you? Can it be easily broken?
I quess it could piss off the thieves pretty bad and instead of stealing your car they might just trash it.
Very good system for those who feel like they have use for it. :happy2:

I used to have an auto electrician wire a switch into my cars. He'd connect it to the alternator, so if the switch was engaged, the starter would crank but the engine wouldn't catch. A couple of pounds of bits and half an hour to immobilise a car. Of course the switch was tucked under the dash in an obscure location. Stopped one of my cars being nicked, despite alarm and steering lock being breached.

Mine doesn't idle at around 500rpm. when the anti-theft is on... it cuts out after 5 seconds.
-
Last time i tried mine (which was a few weeks ago now as my switch is with Revo at the mo) it just about manages to idle, barely, but then i've never left it running long - just checked the first few times of using that its done the job so i guess it may well die if left long enough.

I find you have to sit perfectly still. if you even so much as blink it cuts out.
-
So am I right in thinking this anti theft feature isn't connected to the map and each time you use it the map will be taken off and put back on?
-
No all the anti theft does is disable the throttle.
The map is still on the car.

Same here.

Where does it plug in?
-
In the ECU port - get on your knees by the drivers door and it's under the dash :happy2:
-
Once you've located it, you can reach it from the driver's seat. You don't need to get back on your knees again - unless you like that kind of thing!
