I'm sure I've read somewhere that if you do so many miles after a service is due it invalidates the warranty. Anybody know if this is true and if so, how many miles is it? 1,000 miles seems to ring a bell but I could be imagining it!

Yep 1k miles or 1 month IIRC :happy2:

This happened to me. One day it said 300 miles until service. Next day it went down to 10 miles or something equally silly. Really frustrated me but got it booked in. In the meantime I ended up racking close to 1000 miles.

TBH unless you did silly mileage I don't think they would enforce that too heavily. Stealers make a lot of their money from warranty work so are unlikely to be looking for excuses to turn you away. Unless the fault was directly related to not getting it serviced ...

Well I'm 500 miles overdue, and that is going to be 1,000 by the end of the week. Due to the dealer booking me in for the wrong day this week I now have to take it elsewhere, and hope I can get it done this week. However, even though I've done 10,500 miles since the last service the service light hasn't come on, meaning that it was reset wrong the last time! So time-wise it won't be overdue as the light isn't on, but mileage-wise it will be.

I believe it's whichever is sooner. Set your GPS for the shortest route!
