Title: First mods for my 06 plate GTI?
Post by: minty7815 on August 11, 2010, 10:03:56 am
I'm looking at my first mods for my 06 plate GTI - not looking to go down the remap route just yet as I'm quite happy with the power unlift from my old 140PS Audi A4

Looking to get a new diverter valve as it seems to lack a bit of boost as there's a noticable hiss and also a VWR lower subframe engine mount to damp some of the engine movement when accelerating hard....1st to 2nd is most noticable

Any thoughts or advice welcome

Thanks

 :happy2:

Well the remap is the best power increase for the money, but if you dont want to do that yet then a turbo back exhaust, intake kit and S3/THS intercooler will get you a little way and they ready for stage 2 to stage 2+ (with a fuel pump upgrade).

Are you interested in handling and stopping mods?

Thanks for that Alex, at the moment I'm just looking to tighten things up a little and ensure that she's running well. Just had a new windscreen fitted this morning as the old one had a load of stone chips and scratches....it looked really tired.

Need to get the stone chips around the front end sorted and there's a touch up on the wing that's a tad messy. Once it's running and looking the part I'll make a start on the more serious stuff....milltek and stage 1 revo next spring, hopefully
