Title: Good Trainers..............
Post by: Edition_30_P on August 14, 2010, 11:41:54 pm
Hi Guys,

Firstly thank you to all that have helped me along the way in making the right decisions, info and guidance!!  :happy2:

I got APR Stage 1 on my Car today and I would just like to know which Tyres you would recommend on the Car. I'm after something that would last and that offers great grip!

Cheers,

Phil

Agreed X 2.. I have PS2's on mine at min (soon to be replaced with PS3's) and have done for the last 3 sets, great rubber IMO. Although I did get the traction control light flicker when coming on boost in 4th the other day in the wet  :scared: They are about shagged to be fair..

I'd be surprised if he can do PS3 at £50 a tyre as he would be selling them at a loss

If he can then

GROUP BUY

Well, I'm only getting em at that price as his girlfriends dad owns the tyre shop and he's giving em to me at cost! I may not be able to get you them at the same price but, if he could do something like £70-£80 a tyre would you all be interested?
Title: Re: Good Trainers..............
Post by: vRS Carl on August 15, 2010, 09:47:14 pm
Well not me as I only had my PS3 fitted a couple of months ago but I'm sure others will.

You sure they are PS3 though as at cost they are about £90 a tyre. Most people pay around the £100-125 mark depending on size.

It cost me approx £103 per tyre fitted for 225/45/17 size PS3 :happy2:

Yea, they definitely are the Michi PS3's! But, like I said it may not be £50 a  tyre for everyone but i'll se wha I can do!!

If we're talking 225/40/18 then I'd definitely buy a full set at that price...

Hi ,  I recently purchased x 4 off Vred Ultrac Sessanta and for around £95 fitted.  I like the look of them on the car and grip seems good .  Will have to see how long they last .

Have recently purchased 4 x Vred Ultrac Sessantas from Camskill for £78 per tyre, thought that was a pretty good deal and am pleased with them.

Got them delivered to the place I was having the wheels re-furbed...no hassle at all.

Hi guys!!
Sorry for the late reply! I spoke to my cousin yesterday and, he said that he will be able to do a group buy but, it wont be the £50 a tyre for everyone. He said his manager would do em for about £65-£70 a tyre.. Will keep you all updated!!  :happy2:

I've spoken to a few people in the trade that are extremely sceptical that genuine PS3s can be bought for that amount of money, even at cost.

If they're the real deal then I'm still up for it, but sadly I doubt they are. More than happy to be proved wrong though

Same here mate. My mate is a parts manager and says he'd be very interested to know how he can get them for this sort of money as he pays £102+VAT trade  :surprised:
He did also ask whether they were the PS3's that are manufactured in Brazil, as these are cheaper due to them not being manufactured from the same grade rubber and don't last anywhere near as long..  :scared:

And probably aren't legal in Europe

I've sourced some Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas for £87 a tyre (225/50 ZR18 92Y XL) so I'm going to order a set of them.

Yeh I've also found the Sessanta's for around that price too and was what i was about to buy until this cropped up.
Gonna do the same as you and go for a set of 4 of these.

Need to measure the depth of my current tyres as at least 2 of them are good enough to move on i think and are Sport Conti 3's

can I ask where? I urgently need 1 assymetric to pass an mot BUT will most likley have to swap out two as I dont want odd tyres on the front...these just may fit the bill.
