I'm looking to upgrade my DV...... What are people recommending to replace with on my Ed30? I was thinking Forge but, then I thought about the OEM one?
If the OEM is the most recommended I'll go for that or if any toher vise versa. By any chance does anyone have the part number for the OEM one?
Cheers,
Phil

Save yourself a few ££ and stick with the OEM one.
-
Do you have a part number for it by any chance?
-
Have a search. The part number was posted by someone.

You da man, Dub :happy2:

How long does the diaphram DV last. My remapped ED30 has 6.5k miles on it. Should i change it now or do i have a while?
-
If you have the old style then swap it out for a new one.

Just for clarity, I thought the edition 30 with the relocated DV didn't use the diaphram type.
If i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me.

No the Ed30 uses the diaphram type as std

Since my car is at the dealer today for an MOT I thought I'd ask if they could have a quick look at the DV whilst it was up on the ramps to see if it looked like it needed replacement...
The service guy asks me to wait while he checks with one of the techs whether it's something they can look at easily. He then comes back and asks me what engine is in my car; 2 litre turbo I reply to which he then says:
You haven't got one
Long story short, I'll be asking someone else to look at that... :scared:

I have a forge one and its pretty good :)
-
replaced mine recently from OE diaphragm to new style piston, no change in performance for me :signLOL:
10,000 miles as OE map, 30,000 miles on APR stg1 (total 40k miles +) and it was still intact :surprised: but changed anyway as its a better design.
bottom line is that if you have an early version it 'may' tear at some point but it doesnt necessarily mean it has.
On a K04 car is a no brainer as its so easy. For the sake of £50 its worth changing it :happy2:
and if you have a K03 and performance isnt great then def be the first place to look (VCDS to confirm, as the K03 location is a bugger to change)
not a forge fan to be honest when the updated VW design seems to work :happy2: (and its OE and simplier to fit)

Just got back from having my new Forge DV fitted. I know (now) the new VW one is just as good but it was already on order.
I can report a HUGE difference in performance - it's like a new car! It now pulls at low revs and just keeps going. The 'hiss' that I had when accelerating has also gone and this was all on the back of VW checking and with no issues to the std DV.
Happy days here!

the guy doing my service has said this.....
I would be carefull changing the dv valve while its running ok with no fault codes coming up as most people I know that have changed them have had teething problems with leaks and faults occurring with the new one,you would probably be better to make sure its serviced regularly, decent plugs and injector cleaner until it goes wrong,if you want a price I will sort one out for you.
but after readin stuff on here i,m going to get it changed anyway.
re my service thread.... any help appreciated!

Definately sounds like someone who doesn't know much about the workings of these cars! Typical mechanic to be honest!
-
I guess he'd have a coronary on a Revo upgrade then!!
Mention it to see what happens.
