Title: Sidelights - Non LED
Post by: rdfcpete on August 18, 2010, 08:04:37 pm
What's the brightest non-LED side light bulb that fits the Mk5 Golf?

Be interested to try a set with the DRL's I've got (on the OEM Xenons). I know they're never going to be bright enough to be true DRLs but I want to maximise the light output volume.

Thanks  :happy2:

The oem front sidelights on the Mk5 GTI are abysmally weak. Why are you saying no to LED bulbs?

Well the non error ones, I'm game to try, as long as they're bright.
Its just with all of the ones I've had in the past in various cars (probably 5/6 sets in total) they always burn out after around 2 months.

EBay is as good as anywhere mate. The only good set I had from there (reliability wise) were from there for about £11, but they weren't bright enough for the Xenon DRLs (I know you've got Xenons so might not serve much purpose for you either...)

^^ It's a toss up between these two at the mo', getting expensive to try some 'good' ones now though - not much change from £15 a pop  :scared: :stupid:

Not sure, both could offer a bright crisp white light but then they could burn out after a week like on previous experiences? I never learn...  :indifferent:
