Not sure how you searched but I typed "open fog" into the search box (people seem to spell grille as either grill or grille so omitted this).

Second result was this: clicky (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,15027.0.html)
My post in that thread: click (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,15027.msg247130.html#msg247130)

Third result: clicky (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,17893.0.html)
Sixth result: clicky (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,14460.0.html)
Ninth result: clicky (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,6626.0.html)

That's four threads on the first page with part numbers in them. Open vent fog grilles are highly sought after, hence there's lots of part number requests. A quick search helps reduce the number of people asking the same thing again, and again, and again.....just get's a little boring.

I just bought a set of "open fog light grilles" from London South TPS, 0845 6189765, for £24.40 each plus VAT. They are genuine VW. Part numbers were 1K0854661M9B9 and 1K0854662F9B9.

This may be for trade only I think but I am sure they are not much more retail.

I think that as all 3 options have the same digits you can take it that this is the part number....

1K0854661M9B9
1K0854661F9B9

I would be going with the above...I have a set of the open fogs but cant be arsed to take em off to check!

Should make a sticky thread that contains useful items and PN's..... Open Fogs, DV PN, those jack plate items etc, the list will end up getting big quickly i can imagine

Mine came with shroud on the back. One like a vent one a closed box.

Leave on or take off?

They were fitted for hot climate countries, some on here say no point fiting on uk cars and may cause issues. Personally had them fitted for a couple of years with no issues but i fitted because i liked the look of them.

They do look good though as the centre grill is 'open' so now matches.

I was hoping it might keep the DSG a bit cooler but am now probably talking bollocks!

On UK spec cars, categorically NOT.  Why do you think the very early Mk5 GTIs had open-ish fog grilles, but then subsequently closed them.  VW did that for a reason.

Told you I was talking bollocks!

Anyway when they came one vent was completely blocked anyway.

The other had a angled channel to direct air somewhere.
