Hey folks,
I pretty much have sorted a highline dash, the exact part number MortyGTTDI recommends (2005 GTI) 1K6 920 970 EX Z02 for my 2005 DSG GTI.
The local VW Dealers are booked in to do the job late next week, but now I have read somewhere on here that they do not fit second hand clusters?? Is this true?
I did tell the service lady i'd be providing the part itself along with my 2 keys to be coded? But the cluster will be second hand, so will have existing miles on it, surely they can just wipe it and transfer my existing stuff over on to it? Or are they going to refuse to do it?
If they can't is there anyone on here who can do it? I know a couple of you folks are up North (Leeds way?) im in Essex, would travel but just wondered if there's any Southern folk on here with the ability to code a highline in?
Thanks in advance :o)
Sean

speak to ben @ shark performance(shark_90). hes up in mansfield. he does alot of work like this, changing peoples clusters, wheels, and electronic trickery

Sean i may be in London some time in the next couple of weeks if you can travel to kings cross it will take me 5 minutes to sort it.

I've heard Hazzydays do the upgrade clicky (http://www.vwcruise.com/93.html) and they're based in Hemel Hempstead, which is a lot closer.

Sean
A main dealer could fit it but as you have recognised cannot modify the mileage to suit your car using their dealer tool. Daren is your Man on this one.

Hi Darren, I would really appreciate that mate, can definately come to Kings Cross - would you be able to code the keys then as well? Failing that i'd quite likely drive up to you as your the man on here!
Hazzydays is indeed near-ish me guys, they supply & fit for £420 not sure if they just fit ones if we supply them the 2nd hand one though.
H4rdy > Believe that part number is the one to use for all the GTI's to upgrade to highline due to the coding being easier to do vs the later ones which were dealer only.

wheni got highline fitted to mine it was a case of copyiny the code of my old clocks onto the new ones with no key coding but i understand the after 07 08 you have to do this i think

Hi folks, oh so I don't need to code the keys?
I have 2 keys (one is a new one which hasnt been coded which was going to be my new spare key).
I am looking to do this (if possible) Saturday 4th September, I am happy to travel to Mansfield or I think Darren is in Leeds area?
... Unless your in London this week Darren?
Many thanks,
Sean :)

Yes you still need to do the keys Sean.

Sean Im not down in London for a couple of weeks need to sort another group buy for the RNS510's but if your coming up this way ill gladly do it for £20 and will have it done including your keys in less than 20 minutes so you can get back on the road... :happy2:
I'm in the center of Leeds
