Title: Good GAP/RPP insurance
Post by: Poverty on August 23, 2010, 10:18:12 pm
Audi want 600 quid for their gap/rpp insurance. For my K1 I only paid 150 after I haggled it down stating I can get it cheaper online. However incase audi dont want to play ball with me I wouldnt want to sort my own gap out. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?

Regards

£104 for the ED30, return to invoice Gap with a 10K claim limit on a 3 year policy, iirc it was £130 for the same deal albeit a 15K claim limit for my A3, so a great deal for my circumstances  :happy2:

If you decide to use Click 4 Gap there is £22.50 cashback through quidco which might help -

http://www.quidco.com/click4gap/

I also just tried http://www.ala.co.uk/ who offer 10% through Quidco -

Still looking but that ALA seem competitive, can't work out yet who underwrites the policy.

S & P use Fortis I think which are a well known.

S & P have done me a good quote!

Was that online or have you beaten the online price?

Are you thinking of using them or are you going to try and bend your dealer over?

Which cover are you going for?

As a matter of interest I emailed ALA to ask who their Under Writer was and they didn't reply.

I went with MotorGAP.co.uk. Quoted me £114.50 for a £10k claim limit on an RTI policy for 3 years. I would think £10k would cover any shortcomings in my insurance company pay out easily.

Not sure yet mate, just waiting on audi to get back to me but get a return to invoice cover and with someone whose underwritten by a reputable company is all I could advise.

Lucky man make sure you get some pics up. You still have a while to choose your gap. IIRC on most insurance policies if your car is written off or stolen in the first year they give you a brand new car anyway so gaps sorta pointless in the first year, but ye get the gap before a month is old, think the limit is 45 days for new cars

Audi dealer tried to sell me RTi yesterday when I picked mine up.  The problem, as I explained to the salesman, is that RTI is only really any good if you paid RRP or near as.  If you got a substantial discount you're wasting your cash buying RTi, you need a replacement option.
