Hi all,
I bought new VW badges for my keyfobs as the old 1's were worn away.
I'm trying to remove the old badfge off the keyfob using a very tiny flat head screwdriver but i cant seem to get the badge off......i have thought about just sticking the new badge ontop of the old 1 but i want it flush.
Any ideas how to take the old badge off?

they just pop of with a little bit of force
-
lol i cant get them off still, i've jabbed my thumb with the screwdriver many times just trying to get them off :rolleye:
would heat work? then pry it off
-
Yeah, much easier if you hold the key under a hairdrier for a while.
-
Yours must have been glued down with superglue or something.

I changed mine this week and both were pretty well glued in place. I just pierced a very small hole in the centre with the tip of small knife and they both popped out :happy2:

Cheers nice one mate, used a knife and it popped straight off :happy2:

Sounds like you got it sorted, but thought it was worth noting for others that the best place to start prying it up is at the 9 o'clock (270º clockwise) position. There's a screw under that part, so there's a bit of room for your tool of choice to get under there to pry it up. Heat always helps.

What do you use to stick 'em down with?
Oh, and the part number: 3B0 837 891 09Z
-
They are self adhesive mate :happy2:
-
if your car is still under warranty these can be replaced by VW i believe
-
I wish mine was as tricky to get off- it fell off today!
-
How much is the part from a dealer?
-
They are about £2 from the dealers.
I use a sewing needle to get them off.

They are self adhesive mate :happy2:
They ain't - I've got a brand new genuine item - and there is no kind of adhesive on it.
There is some kind of clear film on the key - though that aint adhesive either! :sad1:

The VW ones I replaced recently had a little peel off on the back and so did my old .:R ones come to think of it. Just whipped it off and stuck it down job done :happy2:

Did mine this morning.
Took about 20 seconds (including pealing the backing off the new badge). I used a house key to push the old one off - worked a treat!
Excellent how-to :happy2:
Now I'm looking at replacing the button pads on one of my keys as it looks so tired - has anybody done that? It says on ebay they just push in and out.....
