Although a while off yet, I enquired today about extending the manufacturers warranty when my Ed30 reaches 3 years old. The car will have probably done around 24000 miles.
The VWMD have quoted £442. Is this worthwhile expenditure to cover my car in its fourth year for what will be mileage between 24000 - 32000 miles?

Bumpety bump....
Anyone done this?

getting near to this time myself 44k on mine though :happy2:
Hows warranty direct for cover and cost?
I'm considering no warranty, but get the £299 deal on 2yrs servicing from VW (inc MOT's)
only big numbers issues on GTI's seem to be DSG related or early cam related maybe steering rack too, they seem pretty strong cars tbh
so if you have DSG get a warranty, otherwise Im not so sure its needed.
anyone else care to comment on my assumptions?

mine has finished now as i have just done 60k unlucky for me the air con went pop in france but as i was still under the 60k at the time they said dont worry we will fix it so its in now for it doing . I was thinking of getting some cover but to be honest most things on my have been changed and if things ever did go wrong vwr would sort it for me one way or another  . Just enjoy the car and look after it and it should be fine for many years to come

I bought my car (manual) when it was three years old @ 29k miles.
I've had the usual PCV/DV/ignition issues in the last 18 months, but everything else seems rock solid...
