Title: where to get a sharkfin kind pf arial

hello all,

im looking for a shark fin arial type thing, and any instructions on how to fit it to a 2007 gti :)

I wouldn't bother pal they wont work very well. The only ones they work on are the factory install navs and the early models that have the ariel in the back window. I think its possible to get some sort of dash mounted ariel though and just have the rear roof jobbie for looks.  :happy2:

my standard one doesnt seem to work very well either, but i dnt use the radio much just wanted it for the looks,

i have a sat nav head unit not sure what one it is, but i have been told it was fitted aftermarket.

I fitted a genuine VW one to my Leon and the reception was pretty poor, so i took the gubbins out of my original one and fitted them into the shark fin casing and i now have near perfect reception. Unless your willing to do this, i wouldn't even entertain the idea of fitting a shark fin mate.

If you PM plush Automotive he can help i remember he went the whole nine yards and had his roof lining down and still ended up with a dash mounted ariel. He is a very reputable when it comes  to audio equipment. He can point you in the right direction.  :smiley:

yer i saw his build thread about it a while ago, i might just leave it for now then :) untill i get all my head unit and speakers sorted out

ive got the shark fin ariel that i fitted and ive had no reception problems what so ever and it looks 100% better
