Hi all,
Has anyone added R32 rear lights onto their GTI?
I ordered my set from Awesome-Gti today and they said it was a straight fit onto GTI's.
Now i've just spent 45mins on Golfmkv.com in the DIY section and from what the threads say on there is that when installing R32 lights to a GTI or any other MK5, you need to have the lights setup via VAGCOM.....is this true?
I dont see why they need coding as it practically the same lights as GTI but just darker, or am i wrong?
Any help would be appreaciated :happy2:

As far as I am aware they are the same, take out the old ones and plug in the new ones. The old ones are easy to take out, from memory it's one or two screws and unplug the wire and it's out.

No coding needed for r32 rears :happy2:

nice one cheers for replies, had a feeling you didnt need to code them

I think the confusion might be for coding the fog / reverse lights if you buy RHD lights for a LHD car or something of that kidney ...

Actually there is also a rule which states, if you fit these lights, you MUST post pictures on here afterwards! :signLOL:

....That's absolutely correct. In fact it's a sub rule which comes under "You MUST post pictures on this forum of ALL your mods"
