Title: Some wrapping
Post by: Jules86 on August 26, 2010, 09:27:00 pm
Finished the aircon unit and coin tray surround. Took me ages and a trip to B&Q for some allen keys to unscrew the unit.

Heres it at the moment. Next will be the symphony II. I just need to get some keys so i can pull it out to wrap it.

Nice looks good was it hard? I tried to do mine in gloss black
But there where too many fine scratches in the vinyl n it was
Hard to get neat.
This might be a better option where did you get the vinyl from?
If you dont mind do you have a link?
Thanks

Do you use a heat source or soap to get it into place when you do it?  Or is this actual carbon with epoxy adhesive?

It's a vinyl sticker with carbon texture. You use heat, pressure sticks it and lacquer holds it

 :surprised:

Good effort jules, Takes abit to get used to looking at!

Black Gloss perhaps as an idea ??

For me theres just too much of it .

Thats not an easy job to do with such detail.

The weave all goes in the same direction.  :congrats:

Its the little details that matter

It looks much more subtle in the car. It's gone from black to black with a pattern so you don't notice it too much.

Ill try and get some better pics in the light tomorrow of the whole interior  :happy2:

All done now. Keys and petrol cap were practise as they are very tricky.

I may do the roof but plain black, not carbon. I can do it for less than £50 so nothing to lose if i dont like it.
