Title: Winter wheels for Ed30
Post by: GBSGR5 on August 27, 2010, 01:21:07 pm
What winter wheels does any recommend for an Ed30 ?

My preference would be for 16" golf steel wheels - but do these fit over the brakes ?

If 16's don't fit then presumably the simplest option is 17" Monza's off a MkV GTI ?

I appreciate it's quite early to be thinking about this, but summer isn't around for long in Aberdeen !!

Spend your money on a good wheel sealent & wheel wax and make sure you keep on top of it.

Then spend the rest on a nice coat.

I've never understood why people go for winter wheels, unless they have specific show wheels or polished lips/faces.  :pomppomp:

....Good luck with that! Clear lacquered diamond-cut BBS wheels will develop white worm at the tiniest opportunity.

[I still have some genuine original oem Monza 17's for sale if anyone is interested]

the standard 16" 6 spoke mk5 alloys fit over the gti brakes (earlier golf gt etc.) not a massive amount of clearance but makes the calipers look huge
