Just wondering what you use over winter too protect the coilovers ?
-
a spray can of silicone greese :)
-
I now use the quatum stuff that VW sell they call it wonder grease cos its so good, they only come in small cans at £2 each but its enough to do all the threads on the collies.

Will that stuff last through out the winter or will it need topped up
cheers !
-
I take it you just spray this stuff everywhere willy-nilly?
-
I spray it all over the threads and any other moving parts and it lasts a good time prob check it once every couple of weeks.

Yea the silicone grease won't last as long as as required, Im just looking at one coat to do all winter with out re aplication.
I've used a product called dynax by Bilt hammer before although I've run out it is basically a thick spray grease wax that is self healing eg if a stone hits it it will recover and protect again and it does last through out the winter with perfectly protected coilovers underneath the only thing is it's brown and and a bit off a pain in the ass to remove in the summer.
Anyway I've sourced some heavy duty lithium grease so I'll give this a try this year
cheers !

Would spray silicone grease be suitable for door hinges? g/f 206 is driving me mad with sqeeky doors
-
^^^^^ yea it would be fine. I tend to use a dry lube on the hinges that way it doesn't attract dust.
Before that I just used a thick silicon and cleaned and reapplyed when it started to get mankey

Copper slip lasts a long time, i always use it on the hubs when fitting wheels back on.
