Title: 10 speakers....option???
Post by: nobby on February 03, 2009, 12:29:20 pm: Hi all, just going through all the codes in the front page of my handbook and one of them says decodes to 10 speaker!, i have a gti pirelli with rns510 factory fit. Is the 10 speaker standard with rns system of was it an option as i was led to believe standard was 8 speakers!

10-speakers came with the RCD500 CD-changer option, otherwise it would have been 8.

Amp? I've had a look under my passenger seat it doesn't seem to have anything? What does it look like?

Post by: cmdrfire on March 22, 2009, 05:38:09 pm: Early GTIs came with 10 speakers and no amp. An amp could be fitted by VW dealers as part of an upgraded soundpack. On later Mk5 GTIs this was reduced to 8 speakers and no amp. I think now it's back up to 10 speakers and no amp, or the Dynaudio pack with 10 speakers and an amp.

it is under the passenger seat, i found mine by accident, before this i didnt even know i had one !! (ps its under a plastic cover)
