Would it be possible to set up a DIY area on the forum for all of the really useful things that people might want to do.
At the moment I would like to fit a K&N filter when I pick my car up, but I can't find anything on this (and I believe that it's meant to be a real sod!).
I'm sure that there are lots of other things that would be useful in a DIY area too.
Examples from previous forums included bumper removal, iPod integration, bulb replacement etc...
Just a thought or am I just looking in all of the wrong places!?

We have a DIY area it's called the search button.
-
Good suggestion I think, a place for all the write ups etc. Then we wouldn't need the search button as much
-
We already have it but people don't use it, it's called the How to section.

....I use it, and I also do a Search in it when hunting for info. :happy2:

The How to section seems to cover lots of things, but I haven't found the search engine to be brilliant.
A lot of the things listed in the How to section I haven't got a clue what they are and whether they are any use to me?!
Aren't there a list of more frequent DIY activities that lots of people will / need to use?
I can't fault the information on the forum, but just find it difficult to navigate around and find things sometimes...it was just a suggestion.

something like this would be good

^^^I've already mentioned this and the Boss said he's trying to sort something out.
-
That's what I was meaning, but perhaps not describing so well!

....A great idea. It would need to be kept in alphabetical order though.

It's not great though.
I spent ages trying to get the search function to find this thread:

I knew I had posted on it so searched for the words I had used... it didn't find it. I used the thread title... it didn't find it! You try a search combination to find that thread and let me know, because I'm buggered if I can!!

20mm Springs and it's the first in the list. The & in H&R is always a problem for the basic search engine that runs in SMF.

How come if I copy one of my quotes straight from the post and use that in teh search by user Garth it doesn't find anything? Very odd

I often just go to my profile and look at last posts by this person until I come back on the topic I want to find if I have posted or in someone elese's list if for something someone else has posted.
I suppose the main use of this new list would be for new members who havent built up a picture of who and where things can be located, only issue I can see would be vetting the information contained, as it needs to be objective not subjective and the thread would need to be cleaned of anything but relevant information to make it truly useful.
