Title: Filter located on top of engine WHY?
Post by: parks on September 08, 2010, 07:59:57 am
Does anyone know why on earth Vw located the filter onto of the engine, soaking up all the heat as opposed next to it maybe? Must be a reason?

The airbox looks tiny compared to other cars!

I sometimes wonder whether it's to make what would have been a simple, easy job into a more difficult, labour-intensive and hence expensive job.

.
I think that just about every 2.0TFSI owner, who opens his/her bonnet, wonders the same. It's a royal pain-in-the-arse to take on and off too.

It just shows that there's no such thing as a perfect car.

could have put the screws in the top, allowing the filter to be changed without taking the cover off at very least
