Hi guys.
Decided to mod my standard engine cover in order to get it to fit with my aftermarket intake.
Currently sanded down and primered the engine cover ready for the final colour, but at present I cannot decide what would work.
I think I want to just do the black part in a gloss black, but don't know what colour to do the centre strip with the VW badge on it.
My motor is reflex silver,
Any suggestions? Of course, I don't have to do the black part gloss, so open to any ideas really!
Thanks :happy2:

y not do it reflex silver so it blends in with the rest of the bay :signLOL:

You did ask for suggestions.... :P
How about Reflex silver with a red stripe between the silver and black?
Or you could always do it reflective green and blue like on your police cars... :signLOL:

.
Be careful! It's easy to do it in some garish colour. Keep it smart looking.
Reflex silver (same paint as body) is quite a good idea. The key to it is achieving a professional paint finish.
Laser Blue? Deep Blue Pearlescent? Metallic Black Pearlescent? < All VW colours.

I am thinking of going for just plain black on the centre, and as said, just go for reflex silver on the back, basically swapping the colours around.

that sounds like a good plan mate

Look forward to seeing it, whatever colour scheme you decide :happy2:

It was seeing yours that motivated me to change from using the evoms cover to going with your OEM one Chris,
Will make sure I get pics up (as always, once the work is done!)

I really really do want to do that now, but think that the painter may have a fit trying to mask it all properly for that!

I would have said the main part reflex silver, the grey strip changed to gloss black with a red stripe.

Im not sure if ive seen this done before or not, but im really wanting to do the centre part of my engine cover in the style of the Interlagos tartan... i reckon it'll look awesome, but we'll have to wait and see (Unless it has already been done and someone has pics)

Eww they look nasty !!!
I wonder if a good vinyl wrap of the centre piece would survive ok, as it would look a lot better than those abominations i saw on that link - unless im missing some images due to work filtering the good ones?
