Title: Guides for removing centre console trim?

Are there any online guides for removing the trim around the cigarette lighter and gear?

I need to get the iPod lead down from the HU area. I know how to take the vents etc off, it's just the bit lower down.

first step, remove the leather around the gear stick by literally pulling upwards. whole lot will come up including the surround.

then you'll see two torx screws in front of you, undo them and slide the ashtray out towards you. unplug the buttons underneath and the cigaratte lighter. one big gap for your cable!

Don't yank at the leather as it might tear it from the base, use a blunt plastic implement and at the front of the gear surround slide it under and then pop it up, you can then just pul it up using the surround

Like 182_Blue said, don't yank the leather! Pop the trim up where the first plastic base around the gator meets the other bit around the ash tray which is raised slightly. Once thats off there are 2 screws to undo then the ash tray etc comes out too.
