Title: Help Nr Loughborough

Ok, I wash with a mit, bucket has a grit guard, dry with a towel, polish with scratch x, glaze then wax.

Car  looks great.........sun comes out and its still covered in swirl marks. Is there anyone on here near loughborough / Leicester than can show me how to get rid of them. Its driving me mad. :laugh:

VAG paint is known to be quite hard. ScratchX isn't either being worked in properly (are you using machine or hand?) or more likely isn't abrasive enough.

doing it by hand. Think i need to get a machine polisher.

 :surprised: :surprised: Scratch X is way to abbrasive to be used as a general polish mate. Its meant to be used as a spot polish to get rid of scratches etc and if you are using it by hand you probably aint breaking the polish down enough so you are probably inflicting more swirl marks into your paint.

The best course of action is to get the car machine polished by someone in the know then just maintain the finish.

If you dont want to pay to get the car machine polished get yourself a lighter polish that will help fill the swirls take the edge away from them Autoglym Super resin polish is probably the best for this as well as Dodo Lime prime light and Poor boys black hole. The later is best used on darker colours :happy2:

You could also try Bilt Hamber auto balm:

This helps to fill swirls.

if all else fails..you might have to get the car detailed to remove the swwirls..had mine done last year and it was amazing the difference

there are a couple of companies in Nottingham that will do a machine polish, i think thats the route i will take.
