Title: AC packed up
Post by: mistry on September 14, 2010, 09:44:27 am
Hi all,

Firstly I'd like to say what great forum I've been reading here for a few weeks, and there is lots of useful info.

Anyway, I wanted to get some advice from you guys.  Over the weekend my AC stopped blowing cold. So I took it to kwik fit hoping it would just be a recharge, but the informed me there was plenty of gas in the system and it's likely to be a compressor failure.

Anyone had anything similar? or know if it's something I can fix easily myself?  I phoned VW and they seem to think it's unlikly to be the compressor but more likely an electrical fault or the condenser.

Or does anyone know of a AC specialist in the Bristol area?

Thanks

what age is your ED30?  my GTi is a 2007.  I've read about this being a problem with early golfs ie 05/06.

Valeo AC pump st**ks, you need a new sanden pump, if without warrenty get one from german ebay for app. 290 euros without shipping.
Lots of treads about this problem, search and you shall find
