Title: Airbag Badge on steering wheel - any options?
Post by: SeanyK on September 17, 2010, 12:22:20 pm
Hey folks,

The VW badge on the steering wheel / airbag itself, has anyone gone custom with theirs?

Just mine is a little 'dented' looks like someone (previous owner) has pushed their key into it etc and it irritates me looking at it - petty I know but I want it looking pristine!

I've sen a badge that can be stuck over it, on ebay its a 'GTI' in red, but it might be a bit tacky, anyone done similar?

As apparantly the badge cannot be changed itself without replacing the airbag! So im thinking a stick on badge is the only option?

Here you go a brand new airbag cover just replace your existing one,  its a bit faffy to do but looks alot better once done.

Did a quick search and didnt want to start a new thread, but I've seen on here : http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113726&page=2 that the steering wheel badge can be replaced without having to change the entire airbag (although it does seem a bit 'risky'). Does anyone know where a badge could be bought from or would it be best to keep an eye out for breakers etc???

Anyone able to help? Cheers!
