Title: 3yrs on, time for MOT/Warranty : did you renew?
Post by: john_o on September 17, 2010, 01:30:30 pm
3 yrs WTF ! where did that go?  :signLOL:

Time to make a decision. To run without , get VW , or get a 3rd party warranty.
My car is a 57 plate ED30 manual with 43k miles to date, with book fully stamped.

Anyone not renewed and had a big bill??
my main concerns are AirCon/Clutch/Gearbox as they are high value jobs.
Cambelt replaced a few months ago (along with waterpump) under warranty so that out the way for 4 yrs

thanks
John

I'd like to know about this too. Got another four months left before the warranty expires.  :scared:

when my warranty ran out on mine i never renewed it or took out a 3rd party warranty, then i got the dreaded turbo failure that all 140 diesel suffer from..other than that no trouble at all

I didn't renew... Wish I had as 10 days later, the A/C compressor went bang, hot air pouring everywhere in July  Yay woop woop for sods law.

Wish I had as the VW UCW is £400 and I spent £380 replacing the compressor  :jumpmove:  :chicken:
