So yesterday I made the trip from London to liverpool to trade in the cupra.
Was a long drive and at first taking my time on the motorway cruising at 60mph got the mpg up to 39mpg :D Then halfway there I got bored and started to drive properly and increase my cruising speed and the mpg settled at around 32mpg.
In stock mode the car still felt pretty quick so was impressed. But yeah that was my last drive!
Heres a pic from the night before with my mtaes megane sport which is a very nice drive, power delivery is very linear but love the way it handles and steers.

So anyway moving on got to audi to pick up my new toy.

I wanted blue originally, but couldnt find one that was already in the country within my budget sadly. But the white is growing on me.
Review/comparison to the cupra at stage 2 plus to come later
-
looks good in white. how do you rate the performance as standard compared to the stage 2+ cupra?
Whens this in for remap and exhaust etc. REVO have software available now, so theres no reason why your car shouldnt have it
found a new forum for you, right up your alley now http://www.hairdressingworld.com/ (http://www.hairdressingworld.com/)

Hahah cheeky! Funnily enough my mum prefered the k1 and my old man the TT.
Will map it once my savings have recovered, am probably looking at november, then treat myself to the race milly for xmas!
Im really confused as to how the car compares to a stage 2 plus k04. I keep changing my mind, at first I was like this TTRS is so much slower, but now im not so sure anymore. The k1 would deffo beat it 30-130 though, but before that and after that im thinkin RS. Meeting up with wayne soon, our k1s were just as quick as each other so will know for sure once we play
-
The white actually looks very nice IMO, the wheel colour against it looks spot on.
-
Very nice indeed. I love white :happy2:
Not too keen on the wheels though :ashamed:
-
looks excellent :happy2:
-
Awesome :happy2:

@ Poverty,
Catch Evo this month (if you haven't already...). They put the TT-RS around the Bedford track just under 3 seconds quicker than the Bentley Conti SS, which is 50hp short of having double the power of the RS. Hot :jumpmove:
Just shows its OEM performance and capabilities really. Excellent motor.

The Bentley is also 900kg heavier
-
^I deliberately left that out Carl or it wouldn't have sounded as good :P
-
Very nice :happy2:
-
I like that. It looks more agresssive thatm the other tt range, cant help thinking the wheels need some spacers to finish it off.
-
.
I'm not jealous, Poverty
Fabulous car and fabulous engine by all accounts. The TT-RS is most definitely not a hairdresser's car!
-
Is that rear spoiler standard on the TTRS?
-
Superb mate. Once my car is sorted I'll have to come out with you guys and have a look. I hope they put this engine into the RS3 (if it gets made) as it will be my perfect car in sport back guise!
-
Didn't realise you were getting the RS so quickly, Jason.
Stunning mate

Did you have a child on board as your parked in a parent space :stupid:
Not see my passenger in the pics? :P
meeting up with wayne today so will be able to see how it would compare to my old k1.
Went to the place were I always used to have fun with the k1 and had some plays against against a 380hp focus rs, and the TTRS is slightly quicker. Also had plays against a jabba stage 2 plus, in 3rd gear the k04 will edge its nose in front but after that the RS has a better top end. The mid range of a stage 2 plus k04 is phenomenal though, which the RS cant match, but the 2.5TFSI holds the power much better to the redline and that allows me to make up the difference!
Its gonna be a beast with a map!
-
Checking power against all these cars. Sound like a good running in procedure -
No point nannying it forever as it'll stay like that.

What did jonnys get 0-60 with his wot box fitted?
-
3.2
-
Love the motor, wheels have really grown on me too. :happy2:
-
Love it, I remember seeing the advertising banner for this on a road a while back, something along the lines of "The Quattro is back"
Lovely 5-pot warble from the engine as well, just like the UR Quattro!!
-
Oh does he still live at home with mummy and daddy then :signLOL:
Seriously??.. :indifferent:
3.2
3.15 to be exact and that was without WOT BOX.. There is a 2 something 0-60 time in this car with big turbo / WOT BOX / new clutch
GTI International 2011 ill back that claim up
Pov.. You know exactly what I think of the TTRS.. You will be nothing short of astonished as to the pace once mapped with exhaust etc..
-
Jonny I can believe it now, have had a play with wayne now. You are absolutely correct, a stage 1 TTRS is going to be much quicker. No idea what was up with the sportec one to put up such a lacklustre performance that day? Will have to get dave out and see how mine goes stock against his sportec rs.
Cant wait to fiddle with it now! :pomppomp:
-
What a beauty. I think something like this is the only thing going to tempt be back to the VAG world. Just need to save for a loooooooong time to be able to afford one. :happy2:

I really dont think your sons wage/value of vehicle should be a determining point on when he should be leaving the family nest. Although it is non of your business but my old man has prostate cancer, so me living at home ensures the mortgage along with any other bills will always be paid on time and he along with my mum wont have extra worries on their mind.
Like jonny im sick and tired of people assuming that either my parents bought me the car, im a drug dealer, or can only afford the car because I live at home.
I have the car I have due to the blood sweat and tears ive put into working. The early morning starts, the late nights, the skipped lunches, the weekends and the bank holidays. Nothing more nothing less, ive worked hard for everything ive got, and have never had a hand out for anything, and whether I was living at home or not, I would still have RS.

Haha hat one wont fit, will probably get the milltek downpipe and maybe do the rest custom, I want to hear her sing!!
Nice one Jas :happy2:

Like I said if my son can afford a 50k car he will be looking for his own house as it looks like the easy option living at home and To be honest I am very very sad for your father but it's got nothing to do with what I said as I said above  that money should be saved for a nice house for himself ie my son and I don't mind him in a 20k ish car but 50k is taking the p1ss :drinking: if you don't like my opinions then please come see me :happy2:

Everyones entitled to their own opinions and I suppose I can in a way see where your coming from, but on the other hand cant help put think how flawed that thought process is. Plus who is to say your wife will want your son out at 18/19/20 just because he has a 30/40/50k car? Kick him out because hes made a success of himself, but let his sibling stay at home because hes on 20k and spends half of that in the bars/clubs?
Like I said, it is your opinion, however you did use me as an example without actually knowing my circumstances, and just assumed like 97% of the rest of the population most likely will.
But lets get back to the car please.
-
TBH I can see both views and appreciate both angles. I think it depends on the situation. Personally, since I've moved back to Brum and rather than rent a property, pay bills, commute and pay petrol etc, I stay at home with the 'rents and walk to work. Saving up for that house means saving (almost) every penny.
Anyway, mate, awesome car. Looks fantastically gorgeous, especially in white.

TBH its nobodys business but the sons and the families :happy2:

Did you ever post some pics of your full garage? Would love to see it.
-
and if you look at my first post it was a joke but jonny came on giving it the big baby thing :stupid: so i am going to give my thoughts on it if jonny is upset by the joke then he has problems :popcornsoda:
-
^^^^
Hey guys, why get worked up about anybody else's circumstances and what their family decides they'd all like best?
It's up to them and no-one else.
I appreciate that Mat is preaching against 'spoiling' your children and I agree with him on that but it's anyway clearly not the case with Poverty.
And what if your family home is big enough for the 'children' to have their own independent accommodation on the property? A detached mews house for example. Apartment above the garages another example. Nowt wrong with that. In fact, close family is a good thing.
-
Don't worry about it poverty, my mum and her boyfriend have a fair bit of money and people always presume I get everything from them, I actually work hard for it though (yesterday was my second day off in 16 days)
Don't worry about it :happy2:
