GTI or an edition 30 , which to go for, it will only be used as a toy really and the odd track day, cheers steve.
-
Have you driven either?
-
i have been out in a modded ed30 which had around 310 bhp, very impressed.
-
not compared standard ones though, is there much of a difference
-
Go drive them both, but IMHO ED30 everytime.
PS - please stop posting titles all in caps as it's considered as shouting on a forum :happy2:

I am shouting , i want a ED30 , LOL
-
Well it isn't welcome here so either it stops or your threads will be removed.
-
Ed30 would be a better base to mod on for a track car - I cant afford one though so I had to get a GTI , and I love it! :happy2:

Are you the same person who wants a 57-plate ED30 at less than 30k mileage for under £12,000?
If you're gonna smack it around on a track, does it matter about the mileage? Why 57-plate and not say 07-plate (which is when ED30s first came out)?
As for GTIvED30, apart from power, identical in handling so it's more about the power. Also depends on how much you plan to mod it IMO. A standard GTI will be cheaper so more £££ saved for more mods.
As recommended above, try them both at stock and see what the difference is.

I would like the reg as late as pos so i can renew the warranty thats all, and of course it will mostly be a road car with around 4 track days a year, so with that in mind will it be ok with some good springs, stiffer anti roll bars and perhaps some better engine mounts ?
-
You'll need to budget for better brakes too then
-
Both the ED30 and the GTI will suit your needs. My personal opinion would be to go for an ED30 though, much more power, but as has already been said, you really need to upgrade brakes and suspension for trackwork - and a diff and decent rubber really do make a hell of a lot of difference too.
