Title: Are these brake Discs any good?
Post by: vRS Carl on September 20, 2010, 05:01:36 pm
Has anyone ever used any of the 345mm discs listed here?

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_3.2_2008/p/Car-Parts/Service-Parts/Regular-Service/Brake-Discs

Or would i be better off just stumping up for a set from a Stealer?

Carl, found the invoices for the 2 sets i have got from ECP in the past  :happy2:

Part number for the Pagid version is '104441248'
 http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_3.2_2008/p/Car-Parts/Brakes/Brake-Friction/Brake-Discs/?104441248&1&d429731be14e17d28bc29a9bf0f30d5ff73f207d&BDIS

Part number for the SBS version is '104441241'
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_3.2_2008/p/Car-Parts/Brakes/Brake-Friction/Brake-Discs/?104441241&1&d429731be14e17d28bc29a9bf0f30d5ff73f207d&BDIS

Mentioning you are a member of Club Gti should get you around 10% discount at most ECP depots and they never ask for proof of membership...

If you want Pagid Discs/pads try CRN Performance. That's where I went last few times I've needed brakes. You can contact them on 01246 55 99 33 or check out http://www.crnperformance.co.uk/store/

Ask for Nigel. He's a great guy. Fantastic prices and great service.

I have some slotted pagid discs and pagid pads on mine. Although it's the standard GTi size and not R32, they are much better than stock.

Btw, I have no connection with this company  :happy2:

I've just responded to Carl via PM but just a word to the wise, Euro Car Parts have bought the Pagid brand exclusively for five years......ECP are putting pagid on everything from air fresheners to de icer. They are also punting out some seriously crap non oem equivalent pads - they come in a light blue box and not a dark blue one. You can only buy pagid road pads from ECP now hence the many confusing part numbers for the same application.

Pagid dont make brake discs - they're chinese

If anybody is looking for discs try Brakes INternational - they stock APEC or SBS and last time I looked they were £37 + VAT

I am connected with the company - they got me very pissed at their christmas party......

Thats interesting about Pagid not making brake discs, have always used them in the past on older Mk1's and Mk2's before and pretty sure they were made in Germany, maybe things have changed then?
